We are looking for a Wellbeing Director for a Luxurious well-known resort in Phuket, Thailand.
A Wellbeing Director, supervises and oversees all wellness operations. It is his/her responsibility to ensure the achievement of sales goals, business objectives, and profitability. The Wellbeing Director will monitor payroll and expenditures to successfully achieve aggressive wellness profit plan. He/she will review financial data, prepare management reports, and perform administrative functions accurately and timely.
In addition to the above, the Wellbeing Director will plan and coordinate wellness promotions, events, and effective client loyalty programs to maximize marketplace positioning. He/she will also be responsible for overseeing and directing the product retailing operations at the spa.
To ensure the success of all wellness operations, Wellbeing Manager utilize effective recruiting techniques to attract and hire qualified frontline practitioners and support managers. The Wellbeing director is further responsible for projecting a positive image within the facility, maintaining an atmosphere of cooperative teamwork that emphasizes customer service and satisfaction. He/she must ensure a clean, safe working environment by enforcing safety, maintenance, and cleanliness procedures.

Spa Operations:
- Develop and implement Wellbeing Programs that promote healthy lifestyles and meet the needs of our guests.
- Develop and manage budgets for wellbeing initiatives.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the field of wellness, gather information and remain fully informed of local and international trends in Wellness operations and share information with management.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of wellbeing programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the wellbeing department, including staff supervision and development.
- Collaboration with Human Resources on special events related to health and wellbeing for staff.
- Always demonstrate sincere customer focus and true appreciation for the guest experience.
- Develop and maintain adequate professional product program.
- Develop and maintain retail product program.
- Ensure all dealings with guests at the spa to meet or exceed the hotels operating standards.
- Ensure all areas of the Spa kept clean and well maintained at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation governing the operation of a Spa facility.
- Ensure the guest experience is relaxing and in accordance with the hotel’s standards.
- Ensure the health and safety of guests and employees are paramount at all times.

Ensure proper inventories of all operating Spa equipment are conducted in line with audit standards in order to effectively manage operational cost

Ensure that Wellbeing department follows business conduct and ethics.

Ensure that Wellbeing department follows hotels policies and procedures including health, hygiene, emergency and Fire prevention.

Ensure that the Wellbeing department follows safety and maintain confidentiality for all guests and colleagues at all times.

Ensure wellbeing equipment is maintained in good working order at all times.

Ensure that all stock and cash items are kept safely under lock and key.

Be the single point of contact for Dignitaries, VIP and VVIP guests and co-ordinate their wellness experience.

Responsible for checking and overseeing all guest settlements like cash, CC, room settlements etc.

Responsible to develop strong product quality and treatment measures.

Responsible to monitor and analyze the products and services of competitive Spas, to maintain a competitive advantage.

Responsible for the department training plan and conduct hands-on training for the new recruitment.

Responsible for reviewing all guest feedback results and implement improvements to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsible for wellness employee’s weekly duty schedules and staff duty charts.

Coordinate with the engineering department to ensure proper repair and preventive maintenance works of all spa equipment.

Regularly monitor all equipment for the proper functioning in the wellbeing department ensure maximum guest satisfaction.

Prepare annual budget and business plan to ensure Spa operation is adequately represented.

Recruit and train Wellbeing employees in accordance with hotels or resort SOP and guidelines.

Monitor and review Wellbeing employee’s performance regularly and provide required guidance.

Manage inventory effectively, and follow hotels purchasing standards to ensure audit compliance.

Hold regular staff meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Wellbeing operation.

Perform a regular inventory of par levels for retail and operational stocks.

Raise store requisitions of all retail and operational items as and when required.

Perform any other duties that management may reasonably require.
Recreation & Kids Club Operations
- Plan, direct, and coordinate recreation & kids club programs and services for a designated area.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety of participants and staff.
- Train and supervise recreation & kids club staff, including program coordinators and instructors.
- Evaluate recreation & kids programs and services, making changes as necessary to improve quality and meet customer needs.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures, ensuring that programs and services are provided within budget constraints.
- Prepare reports and proposals related to recreation & kids club programs and services, as requested by management.
- Promote recreation and kids club programs and services to the community, using various marketing techniques.
- Stay up-to-date on trends and developments in the recreation field.
- Monitor administrative duties, such as correspondence, maintaining records, and ordering supplies.
Human resource responsibility:
- Promote, maintain and model courteous and professional relationship amongst all staffs in the spa.
- Will continually develop and challenge to maximize the potential of wellness employee.
- Ensure that staff uses safe work practices which assist with controlling breakages of spa equipment.
- Ensure that all staff follows the policies and procedures as outlined in staff handbook.
- Hire new responsible, qualified staff for the spa.
- Work directly with the Human Resource Department to find effective ways to manage and maintain staff to the highest standard.
- Coordinate with training manager for English language classes for staff.
- Monitor, discipline and terminate staff when required.
- Ensure that staff is shown how to perform their duties economically and efficiently.
- Responsible for ensuring that staff are developed and managed effectively, counseling and providing assistance where required.
- Develop and conduct training programs.
- Evaluate employee performance and recommend promotions or demotions of assigned personal.
- Coordinate and oversee all staff related issues.
- Organize regular staff meetings to sharing and update general information to all staff and listen to concerns.
Financial Management Responsibility:
- Operate wellbeing within reasonable cost and profitability.
- The wellness’s performance indicators and financial figures are reported punctually and accurately.
- Prepare and adhere to the annual wellbeing department budget.
- Review wellbeing performance on a financial level.
- Provide monthly wellbeing analysis to the Executive Committee.
- To analyze P&L statement and take appropriate action relating to the situation.
General Responsibilities:
- Be flexible with working hours and to adhere to requests by General Manager.
- Assist General Manager with the function and operation of the resort.
- Greet guests upon arrival whenever necessary.
- Assist with the daily operation of the resort whenever General Manager and Executive Assistant Manager are away from the resort.
- Training or licensure in different types of massage, cosmetology and different types of beauty treatments may also be desirable for individuals looking for spa management positions. Many professional managers routinely take continuing education courses to keep up with trends in alternative therapies, beauty care and hospitality services.
