 Job Opening:

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving business success in the oil and gas industry? Do you have a proven track record in sales and business development, along with deep insights into the Thailand market and its customers? Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Manager for our Specialist Products and Services (SPS) division in Thailand.

About the Role:

As the Senior Manager of SPS Thailand, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing our operations, with a particular emphasis on achieving superior sales performance and operational efficiency. We are looking for a leader who can bring advanced sales knowledge, develop strategic business opportunities, and manage a cross-functional team in a complex, fast-paced environment. Experience in Thailand upstream oil and gas industry is highly desirable, as is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government bodies, and our international headquarters.

This role demands a forward-thinking individual who is open to leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiencies and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:

 Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring seamless coordination between departments.
  • Monitor and improve operational processes and workflows, leveraging technology to drive efficiencies.

Business Expansion:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the product portfolio in the Thailand market
  • Leverage the company’s core businesses and competencies to develop and grow new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for business growth, focusing on the upstream sector.

Sales, Marketing, and Collection Management:

  • Lead and manage the sales team with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, integrating proven sales methodologies and frameworks
  • Implement and manage a robust sales pipeline, utilizing CRM tools to track, analyze, and optimize sales performance.
  • Ensure effective collection strategies are in place to maintain cash flow, demonstrating a strong ability to collect payments from customers.
  • Establish clear sales metrics and KPIs to measure performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in sales practices

Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and the international headquarter, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with local regulations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Thailand operations and the international headquarter, communicating key updates, challenges, and achievements.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee logistics and supply chain operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products, with a focus on the complexities of the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Implement best practices in logistics management to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with principals, suppliers and customers to ensure smooth operations with minimal disruptions.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to team members.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local legal, health, and safety regulations and company policies, with particular attention to upstream oil and gas safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality within the organization.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks.

Financial and Legal Management:

  • Develop and manage the budget for Thailand operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Regularly review and adjust the budget to adapt to changing business conditions and operational needs.
  • Monitor financial performance by analyzing financial statements, managing cash flow, and tracking key financial metrics. Ensure operations meet or exceed financial targets, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize profitability, identifying areas for cost reduction without compromising quality or efficiency. Continuously assess expenditures and financial processes to ensure the best use of resources.
  • Oversee compliance with financial and legal regulations, including tax obligations, reporting requirements, and corporate governance standards. Ensure all legal contracts and documents are thoroughly reviewed, negotiated, and compliant with local laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to address any legal issues or financial discrepancies promptly, ensuring the company’s operations remain legally sound and financially robust.

 

Qualification Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

 Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, product management, operations, or business development, with a strong preference for experience in the oil and gas, trading, petrochemical, or services-related industries.
  • At least 2 years of experience include managing a cross-functional team (e.g., sales, operations, logistics, HSE, compliance, finance), with responsibility for a team of 15-20 or more individuals.
  • In-depth experience and familiarity with the Thailand market is essential, including a strong understanding of local business practices, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in upstream oil and gas areas is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, particularly with clients, government bodies, and international headquarters.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, including a strong ability to develop new business opportunities and collect payments from customers.
