Job Description
Program Coordination
- Provide coordination and direction for design and implementation of innovation programs in Myanmar. This will include interfacing with the Ministry of Health and Sports and related departments such as Central Medical Stores Department, relevant in-country and SE Asia region stakeholders, sub-contract partners, and Assist International partners.
- Attend all Assist International in-country meetings with the Minister of Health and Sports. Cultivate good working relationships with partners and stakeholders as directed by Assist International.
- Provide big picture coordination and implementation guidance and support to meet project goals in partnership with the program facilities and other project partners.
- Oversee implementation and operation of innovations and programs at selected regions and health facilities. This includes setting up and managing the training sessions, construction projects, donation of medical equipment, including support for shipping, assessment, installation, coordination of trainings, trouble-shooting, and discussion of letter of agreements with health facilities.
- Oversee implementation of work plans and indicator tracking sheets related to operational and service activities.
- Build capacity and implement systems that will assure sustainability of innovations beyond project conclusion.
- Manage documents between logistics office and customs office.
- Handle items for local ceremonies with catering company, decorations etc.
- Manage and provide support to sub-contracted and program partners as needed.
Contractor Management
- Oversee the engagement of independent contractors for field service projects.
- Oversee Assist International data collectors as needed.
- Help collect basic hospital information on interventions.
Service and Training
- Coordinate technical support for health facilities by responding to equipment service needs. Concurrently provide hands-on training, within areas of personal expertise, to medical equipment technicians for equipment operations.
- Coordinate with local medical equipment service team; provide leadership and supervision and ensure quick resolution of medical equipment related issues.
Reporting
- Produce monthly reports and provide direct advice to the Assist International, and Hospital Administrators to ensure smooth, and sustainable implementation of programs.
Qualification Required
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree (MBBS or Medical Technology or B.Pharm)
- Experience – Previous experience in logistics and/or operations, and humanitarian projects preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English and Burmese languages
