Program and Engineering Manager

Project Management Teams manage cross functional projects which include, Product & Process Development, Manufacturing Transfer, CIPs and Semi-Automation. As the Program Manager, you will be responsible to assure a project or multiple projects meet Customer expectations – defined by project scope, on time delivery – defined by schedule and financial target – defined by budget objectives. Program managers work with NPD, BD / KAM, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across the organization.
Program managers also directly supervise project engineer teams by building them up and managing them.
Ensuring that engineering team can meet customer and internal expectations in terms of project controls in compliance with internal process, documentation, production support, continuous improvements on assembly process, efficiency controls, layout, scrap, failure analysis etc. Manage customer’s expectations as customer technical contact window.

• Achieve On-Time Delivery project performance objectives and report out progress to relevant Stakeholders at regular intervals.
• Audit baseline project schedules for all projects.
• Hold core teams accountable to schedule and deliverables.
• Provide Input into capital expenditures and project/dept. budgets.
• Participate in and lead as required Phase Gate Reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Quality System procedures.
• Maintain accurate project data reporting and ensure accurate data report outs.
• Resolve project conflicts and establish escalation path on all projects.
• Ensure project closeout meetings and post-completion reviews are conducted.
• Clearly communicate roles, expectations, and accountabilities to all team members on a regular basis.
• Drive compliance and remove barriers to achieve strategic initiatives and goals.
• Regularly keep management informed of risks, issues, and status of on-going projects.
• Understand and comply with Quality system and business practices necessary to complete job function
• Build up and manage engineering teams and cross-functional technical teams for NPD and NPI to assure the project assigned, complete successfully per pre-defined quality targets.
• Drive engineers to understand the customer specifications, feedback needed design changes and establish optimized process in order to introduce finished product.
• Technical ownership for the product during development and introduction phase. Preparing/collecting/optimizing all processes documentation and deliverable, such as BOM, PFMEA, WI, production line layout, flowchart, etc
• Communicating with customer and providing high level support, e.g., design changes, process changes, DOE, test failure, ECO/ECN, etc.
• All other management duties related to project phases

Educational Background and Experience

• Relevant degree in Engineering. (Degree in Mechanical preferred)
• Eight (8) or more years of Project Management Experience in NPI or Manufacturing of Medical Devices.
• Proficient English skills

Skills and Competencies

• Experience in the matrix management of a project team.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations preferred.
• Must be results-oriented.
• Understand low mix high volume assembly or complexity products.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and programs and meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Experience in Product/Project Lifecycle implementation and strong process and systems understanding preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, problem-solving required
