Job Description
We are looking for a Financial Controller position for a Luxurious Resort in Phuket, Thailand.
Reporting to: CEO
Preferred background: from construction to preopening and operations
To manage financial budget for New Project from design, construction, to pre-opening and operations. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of all functions of the Accounting and Finance Department. Ensure compliance with internal controls, standard operation policies and procedures as well as statutory and regulatory reporting.
Job description
- Provide a professional, advisory and executive support service to the CEO to assist in meeting the strategic goals of the establishment.
- Prepare and submit reports that are concise, comprehensive, accurate and timely.
- Evaluate the impact of business decisions where necessary.
- Liaise with the CEO regarding potential opportunities and threats so as to be proactive in addressing changes in the property’s environment.
- Practice effective balance sheet management and ensure reconciliation’s are completed monthly.
- Prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department manager in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement.
- Aid in the preparation and final review of the annual business plans.
- Practice effective cash flow management and communicate all significant cash flows to the Owners on a regular basis.
- Manage, maintain and develop the property’s data processing systems.
- Participate in the preparation of the Strategic Business and Operating Plans.
- Assist in developing Department Heads so that they may take more responsibility for forecasting their department’s operating and financial performance.
- Manage the preparation and presentation of all property accounting. This includes all financial reports, operating budgets, cash flows and financial forecasts.
- Responsible for any financial requests/duties as may be requested from Corporate Office.
- Responsible for any financial requests as may be required by the Owner.
- Contribute to the senior management group on long range strategies and business plans. This includes supporting the financial goals of the Company Department Heads
- Provide support and advice to the CEO to meet bottom line objectives.
- Advice on strategies aimed at cost minimization and maximization of revenue opportunities.
- The CEO is kept adequately informed on a timely basis of all potential soft/hard spots.
- Deviations of company policies and procedures are reported to the CEO.
- Review and monitor internal controls within the property.
- Conduct development and performance reviews, identifying key personnel for further development and structured career pathing.
- Implement and maintain training systems to ensure that staffs have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare work schedules and annual leave schedules within budget, business expectations and guidelines of the appropriate industrial legislation.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to keep all staffs informed.
- Ensure compliance with legislated health and safety requirements within the workplace.

Qualification Required
- Thai nationality
- Proven track record managing financial budget for luxury resort project development from design, construction, to preopening and operations
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- More than 5 years-experience in Financial Controller or Finance Analysis in hospitality business with opening hotels, previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred
- Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated in-depth understand of accounting and business concepts to create reports, track growth and measure progress
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in using Excel pivot tables, vlook-up, power point, etc
- Commercially astute, highly motivated, positive and proactive attitude
